    Tribute to Beach's oboe.

Beach's music has been active in the Listening Room lately, first brought back by Samantha, and yet again getting some listens.
I told myself if it came up again, I would go ahead and post my humble short tribute to Beach's oboe, so here goes:
    show4.mp3 (1.4MB)
I'm still very much a beginner, as you can see. I was inspired by Beach's melody and string arrangment.
My string arrangement (among other things) could be improved--its too predictable and perhaps muddy, too heavy. Comments & suggestions are welcome.
I built it around a chord change in Angelo Badalamenti's "Mysteries of Love" that was used in the film "Blue Velvet".
I love how the constained melody in that piece is constructed and how it plays against the arrangment.

Most of all, this is for me to say "Thank you, Beach" for your music.

    Very nice work!

Definitely in the spirit of your influence. The oboe sounds very smooth... I really enjoyed this gentle arrangement.

I think Roberto would be proud.

And the rendering is top notch too!

    Great stuff!

    Hi, Squoze

-! -- Now that's brevity for you. And, to turn the old saying around a bit, this is the soul of warmth.

Very nice - It's a passage from a full piece?

Wait a minute--Beach designed an Oboe--?

    Beautiful--Thank you.

Thumbs up Re: Tribute to Beach's oboe.

It is way too beautiful to leave it at such a short length.

this is really good!! I really like it!

The oboe sounds really smooth and the rest of the orchestra gives the oboe a very nice tone!!

Thanks for being inspired by my work! It is something that makes me really happy!

    Thanks again,

Dang guys, you've made my day!
Thanks for listening and for your comments.
I wasn't so sure of the arrangement or rendering--you've given me the inspiration to rework it and lengthen it.
The short length is simply where I'm at in my (un)ability to string together more than a minute or two of music.
Its great to have your feedback to know I'm moving in a positive direction.
