    Tavern Games

Nearly two years ago, I listed this piece. Yesterday, it seemed that I should expand it a bit, so here it is. (GPO Steinway, naturally)

    Tavern Itt

This was a big favorite in my home when I was a child. I still like it. My mother, sister, and I played it often, but not like this!

A tonal piece! Great! I could see the beer mugs sliding down the bar.

Guess I'll have another.....listen that is. Burp!

Richard - ! - I love surprises, and this is Such a fun surprise that I couldn't have predicted. Remember the pianist on the Lawrence Welk show? What was her name - Joanne -? - I remember being Wowed by her as a kid. Her weekly number was the only thing that grabbed me about that show which my parents would otherwise have to force me to watch. ANyway - you just gave me a great nostalgic flash on that.

What a fantastic development from this OOld standard. It occurs to me that, among other things, this "Tavern Games" post of yours is an excellent inspiration for people given the job of exploring the little themes posted for the Garritan Challenge series.

    Nice! Thank you much, sir!

AH Yes, thanks Reberclark - I won't have to lie in bed tonight struggling to remember that name now. Joanne Castle - of course!

Thanks again to Richard "rwayland" "Castle" for the fun music!

I can see the piano player in the saloon knocking out tunes with a big smile on his face. Very nice job. Thanks for posting.

This was not what I was expecting at all! This is very fun: I liked this arrangement a lot. The transitions are interesting and the final “Swing low” was, at least to me, unexpected.
