a pelican in your closet (jazz harmonica)

This is a jazz tune featuring harmonica. Everything is jabb except for the harmonica. Please give a listen.

    And the harmonica, which one?
I like the doubling of the melody, piano and harmonica.
    Really a nice piece.

Not special for you this comment [others have it also]. I noticed that when a soloist is involved they always play right on the beat (most of the times). In my perception of jazz the soloists start just before or after the beat, a tiny part, but still it is noticeable and that makes the swing.

    My two cents....

    Jay,

This is a fine composition, beautifully realized through J&BB.

What library or hardware are you deriving that beautiful harmonica from?

NICE GOING, MR. JAY! (Excuse the shouting.)

Very well done. Parts of it reminded me of Toots Thielemans, the great jazz harmonica player.

This one is going in my "keeper" file. I like it very much.

    My best,

raymond, your 2 cents is always welcome. The harmonica was from edirol hypercanvas. Thanks for listening.

Randy, I am glad that you liked it. I wanted to try my hand at working with a harmonica.

Sean, thanks. The harmonica was from edirol hypercanvas.

Larry, I was thinking of TOOTS when I wrote this. I am glad this is going into your keeper file.

I appreciate your nice comment Gunther.

    Jay:
Really nice work. It certainly made me think of Toots when I heard it. The realization is excellent. Where did you get that title?

Re: a pelican in your closet (jazz harmonica)

Marc, I am pleased that you liked my song. I live in Florida (where pelicans live) and for some reason, this song made me think of a pelican fluttering around in my closet. I have no idea why, but I thought I would go with it.
    Thanks -Jay

A sweet little tune which I enjoyed very much. This sort of harmonica playing always reminds me a bit of Mancini, though my ears aren't much refined in this genre.

    Keep up the good work!
