    German March with GPO

    Hello friends,

now I am composing a march-demo, because Gary Garritan donated me the new Marching Band-Library, because he selected me to one of "the helpful listeners in the Listening Room". http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54434

I am sure that the new Library will come the next days, but since he told me, I thought I have to compose a march-demo for this library.

Hm, I realized my composition with GPO and have had a lot of fun together with my composition and GPO.

My composition now is not ready, because I want to have a look about all the instruments are included in the new Marchingband. But, I would not like to withhold my result with GPO from you.

    You know the german "Oktoberfest"?

I have mixed my composition as we would be in a tent with the Octoberfest.

I hope you enjoy this.... . Here is the link: http://www.box.net/shared/lyd3vipcmx

Please note that the german brass players drink a lot of beer at the Oktoberfest.....

    Wow--Now here's a SUper rare event--Music from our Gunther!

Oh boy this is great - You have me looking forward to the Octoberfest celebration that happens every year in a nearby town with a big German population. SO fun strolling around the exhibits and food booths, being tempted to by a Lot of folk art, eating way too many Octoberfest sausages, watching the folk dance performances with pretty girls in old-fashioned costumes--all that!

And German BEeeer--did I mention the BEEEeer?! Oh boy!

WHAt a clever recording, using your radio spot skills to add the crowd sounds for ambience. Yes, I was right there in an Octoberfest booth.

And so you're saying you have this piece realized in GPO, and then when you get the advance copy of the Marching Band you'll be re-exploring things, using those instruments. Do I understand that correctly?

This already sounds great to me. GPO is full of great instruments suitable for a marching band - It's never been clear to me why an entire separate library was being developed, except to add things like Sousaphones and a few other things. A few people have said their marching band pieces were on hold, awaiting the library --and I've always thought, --why?

I totally loved the experience of hearing this - I'm on my 3rd time through as I type.

Gimme another Octoberfest sausage!--AND a Beer!

I liked your march and the crowd noise was fun. There was one place where I think you started playing Stars And Stripes for a few notes.

I also have been to an Octoberfest in Mt Angel, Oregon. I married into a family of beer drinking germans. They sure loved their beer. I don't remember much about folk art, just eating food and drinking beer. My mother's german but they all gave up the beer.

I hope to hear more music from you.

Very Cool, Gunther! I like the Intro (first 3 seconds ) and the ending + Percussions! From this, I see the differences between the US March and German March!

    Good works!

It sounds very german and remember me the sounds of the belgian, north of France processions with majorettes and brass band !

    Thanks for creating that music,
