Piano piece with octaves and major sevenths: Little Piano Book No. 1

    Greetings all,

I have been thinking of doing a small-ish collection of piano pieces and the first can be got from

    http://irendall.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk...anoBook-01.mp3

in MP3 format. Hope it amuses - it's done using the Garritan Steinway sample.

Also by the way, sorry pingu I didn't get back with my comments on the score... I'll try to do that in a few days time.

    Greetings, Rendalli

Big round of applause to you for the excellent performance of your arresting piece. You've made the sometimes under-rated GPO Steinway really sing.

Well thank you indeed! In due course I will be producing a score with LilyPond. The score I have used to produce the sound is done separately and really isn't presentable... However, I have to re-install LilyPond etc. etc. but will post a message when I have done.

    Rendalli,

Really great piano piece you have put up here. You really made the piece using the Garritan Steinway sing. thanks.

Rendalli, sounds great and it must be rather complicated to play. This GPO Steinway has something fabulous and you used it well.

I liked your piece very much. I does sound very difficult to play. The GPO piano is a beautiful instrument. Perhaps some sensitive use of the sustain pedal would be nice. Great piece! Thank you.

Wonderful piece! Ingenious, and very compelling, writing
    in this.

By all means, get together a book of these.

There's been some comment on the level of difficulty of
this; but other than some care in planning the fingering
I'd say it's well within range of a most any decent
pianist. Perhaps Pingu can run up a live version for you!

I've always found the GPO/Steinway quite serviceable,
much under-rated, by the way; though I would suggest
giving some thought to pedaling in this.

    My best,

I agree with the comments about use of the pedal, unfortunately with the setup I have just now I haven't got the pedal working... That will appear in the score, however. As for the level of difficulty, well I did try to keep it within reasonable bounds. Thank you all for the positive comments!
