    A Little Non-Music - P.D.Q. Bach

"The only original places in his music are those places where he forgot what he was stealing." -- Prof. Schickele

Always out to push the boundaries of Garritan, I bring you the work of P.D.Q. Bach's Eine Kleine Nichtmusik (A Little Non-Music).

Like the work of P.D.Q. Bach, my orchestral pieces with GPO are noted for their extensive use of manic plagersim (ie I stole it off the Internet).

I have always enjoyed my early LPs of P.D.Q. Bach, and have had the priviledge of seeing Peter Schickele present his work live, once in L.A. and a second time in Pasedena. Both concerts were fantastic and had me rolling in the isles. I would like to pass on (if just a small fraction) this experience.

    Rick,

This is excellent! Fantastic rendition and I enjoyed this musical amalgamation very much!

What a coincidence! Peter Schickele is on Orcas Island this week. I had a chance to meet him yesterday after a concert where he premiered a Concerto for Piano and Orchestra. What a terrific experience.

You certainly did Mr. Schickele justice with this rendition. You are quite the GPOPDQ master

    Gary, you lucky dog you!

I've wanted so much to pitch to the good professor a spoof of Amadeus, only in regard to P.D.Q. Bach and his relegation to his brother's shadow. How fun would THAT be to write?

Pretty good. I like PDQ Bach but haven't listened in a long time.

    Thanks Randy.

Actually, we still DO! As you can see from Gary's comment above, he just saw Peter Schikele perform last week in Washington State.

If anyone reading this thread has a chance to watch this event live... do it! It is great fun. http://www.schickele.com/

P.D.Q. Bach was limited only by his fault technique.

Thanks for reminding us that anyone can make music..oppss. Well with with the help of GPO anyone can make music....opppsss. Darn....I mean anyone ought to be able to.... the finger keep slipping to the changing scenes of this highly twisted work

Whenever I need a good laugh I pull out the PDQ Bach CD that includes the oratorio "Ifeginia in Brooklyn" and listen to the "Runny Nose".
