My friend Tony Mayato wrote some RPG music. He's clearly amazing. Enjoy!
Your friend Tony's game music really is good - Why hasn't he become a member here so he can post his own things? Do you know that he's using Garritan libraries in his projects?
I like game music.
Although I can't help but mention... I usually think that for a game track, if there's no development, you're probably just better off repeating it once to give more of a feel for how the tune is meant to be "experienced."
Yes I broke this rule in my last post. D'oh!
There is the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Therefore there must be a God. You either get this one or you don't - Kreeft & Tacelli
The will to achieve is not sufficient. Some things should not be achieved. - Rimsky-Korsakov
Musicians are just these guys that want to make music. Okay, they want to have a wonderful lifestyle, but the majority just want to make really great music. - Jon Anderson
A nice little snippet of music.
I realized the music for him. He sent me the MID. Anyway, thanks for the comments guys!!!
What's RPG music?
Role Playing Game. This would be an opening screen for games like Final Fantasy, Zelda, or Fable. Others non-console games (XBOX, Nintendo) may include games like Magic the Gathering cardgame, or Pokemon.
Nice little snippet. It's been a while since I played a video game but definitely sounds appropriate for a castle-storming game.
How much music is usually associated with a game? Does this music change based on the characters' actions? Guess that would be pretty hard. Imagine it just keeps looping
I've only written music for one full game, and it was a MOD. I actually didn't do it based soley on the characters. The director wanted music based on each scene. E.g. Cathedral Music, Grassy Plains Music, Running through the Woodlands, etc. So it is a lot of work, but for the most part each piece wouldn't be much longer than one to two minutes. But they had multiple compsers, and the idea was that each one of us had 3 or 4 projects. Then they would take them all and make them one big song through the whole game. Since it was a level based game, this concept was a good one. There was also music for War! And that was one of my favorite scenes to write for. Wheel of Time MOD is the game btw.
I'll admit it'snot my best work, but it was my frist ever GPO realization. The guys at WOTMOD really appreciated the sounds. Since you askedI'll post it here, but I don't neccesarily expect comments.
