Smile A few Demos (Cues) with GPO

    Hi guys

I have been a member of the forum now for a little over 2 months.
I enjoy so much listening to all the demos and compositions

I had some time to create a few short demos cues.
I must say, the more you tweak, play and test different instruments
together, especially building strings sections, staccato strings sections
etc, etc; everything begins to sound really great.

Although these 3 demos are far from perfect and I have some much
yet to learn, I would like to share them with you.

The first two are Demos and the 3rd one "She Died This Morning" is a full song.

No.1 Title: HE BETRAYED ME - CHASE
GPO (Strings, Brass, Percussion) - Vienna Symphonic (Violin Run)

No.2 Title: THEIRE BEHIND US - ACTION
GPO (Strings, Brass, percussion) - Vienna Symphonic (Thunder Belt, Effects)

No.3 FULL SONG: Title: SHE DIED THIS MORNING - NOSTALGIC
    ALL GPO (Piano + Strings)

Take care and cheers to all the brilliant composers in this entire Forum.

    THANK YOU OTT

I think the reason for the sub having a workout, is because I am mixing and composing using a set of Sony Studio Monitor Headphones, which sounds great, but does not do the job of giving me the real subwoofer effect so I can mix it well. I am saving up to buy a good pair of real Studio Monitors. But for now, till have some extra cash, the headphones will have to do. :-)

    Thanks for listening !!!

    Welcome Willem!

    Great pieces here!

The first two remids me of filmscore-music. Perhaps a little bit too much reverb, but great arrangements!

(Not only) for filmscoring it is allowed to edid the panning from each instrument to get a bigger sounding, perhaps you will experiment with this.

The last melody is very nice! Many feelings are included there!

Willem, I whish you a great time here in the forum and thank you for sharing this with us!

    Willem,

I like these demos very much, especially the first two. I really enjoy the large-screen dramatic effect they present and the manner in which you have presented them. The GPO instruments help to make this shine.

Thanks for sharing these works with us.

    THANK YOU GUNTHER !!

Yeah... I am still trying out settings with reverb. So I still have lots to learn. I was however looking for a more wet sound and your suggestion of doing more extreme panning is very good. THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT. I want to go back later, and try that and see how it sounds. I want to have it sound more wide and big.

    Thanks for listening

    HEY GARY !!

Thanks so much. Yeah.. I like the first one “He betrayed me” the best. Hopefully I can just improve and make it into an entire piece and not just a short demo. I like painting all these scenes in my head and just scoring them. It is SO much fun.

    Thanks !!!

Re: A few Demos (Cues) with GPO

As your first pieces using GPO, there is major evidence here that you will soon be a major contributor and innovator.

The third piece is outstanding. While the first two are impressive and show considerable control of musical effects, it is the third that indicates a deeply rooted sense of melody and finese of technique.

Welcome aboard - and keep the samples coming.

Hi Willem and welcome to the forum.

These are all highly evocative and appropriately named.

I particularly liked the first and third ones.

I would agree with the comments about the reverb.

Well done and thanks for sharing.
