There's still plenty of time to work up your entry to the latest Garritan Orchestration Challenge! You'll find the given Challenge #15 melody in the very first post of this thread:

The revised deadline for submissions is January 14, 2008.
Does anyone have any questions? Don't be shy -- ask away -- chances are very good that somebody else has the same question!

Good deal, Ken - Thanks for bringing this up again. With the super-extended deadline, I imagine there'll be plenty of well-honed entries.
I finished my own entry several weeks ago (gotta get it to Sean!) --and as you know from email, Ken, I did have a question about the time signature. But after some small adjustments, I made sense of it for myself and think my tiny re-working is well within the ballpark of what you originally posted.
Others may or may not puzzle over the way the rhythm of the theme is graphed out in a strict 2/4 signature, but playing with time signatures is part and parcel of arranging music - so it shouldn't present any problems really to adjust as wanted.
It was fun working up my arrangement - Looking forward to what everyone else has come up with!

Sean - I sent you my entry back in October I think -- do you still have it?

Well, I just finished it, and wow, that was a lot of fun. I've never just orchestrated something without having to come up with every single part myself. It was kind of refreshing to see what a melody written by someone who uses a different style of writing than me does to my own writing...if that makes sinceI can't wait to hear what other people have done with this!
Karen & Sos: You're both in great shape! Sean confirms that he has both of your entries.Originally Posted by KE Peace

If you've just acquired a new Garritan library, I bet you're just itching to take it out for a spin. Well, here's the perfect opportunity -- The Garritan Orchestration Challenge #15. We're about one month away from the January 14, 2008 deadline so there's still time to work up a masterpiece using the challenge melody.

Just figured I'd take some active duty in the forum and remind everyone that this contest ends in just over 2 weeks! You should enter soon, or forever hold your peace i suppose...even though, you really have no chance of winning with my entry already submitted.![]()
Well, with Ken entering, I'm seriously doomed anyway(except Sanyarem, don't know you, so maybe that goes twice)
oh wait a minute! It's your melody Ken, so you don't enter a piece this time, right? AHA! A chance for the rest of usLOL! (Ken I had a lot of fun with your melody, and stand in awe of your compositional skill! You raised the bar for me last time, that's one of the great things about these contests....)
Good luck everyone!!
