    Rhapsody for Strad and Piano

    Hi everyone

I've had the Stradivari for a few months and I have been learning how to use it. Of course, there is no way I can actually play it live, so I've had to learn how to use it in my notation software. It's a tricky instrument.

In this little piece I tried to use all the techniques I have learnt. I clicked all the notes into Overture4 and painted the expression, vibrato and other controllers in with the mouse. It is a very short piece and it's probably not highly original, but I enjoyed creating it. I hope you will have some fun listening to it.

Instruments: Stradivari Solo Violin 2.0 and GPO Steinway
Playing directly from the score in Overture 4

    You can download it HERE.
If you want to follow a less than perfect score you can get it HERE

    Thank you for listening.
    Kind Regards

Louis, are you joking? Hey, it is excellent! You did a very great job! Both, the stradivari and the piano, very nice orchestrated!

    Wow.. terrific work, Louis!

So many styles come through in this piece,... woven wonderfully together.

I agree with Gunther on the performance of both instruments.
You've really made the strad sound so natural.

    Great!!

Splendid work, I found the harmony in the introduction very appealing, so it got off to a good start. I think the development of the material is good too and the production is well done. The Strad sounds outstanding.

Very nice! Except for people who use sample libraries all the time, I doubt anyone would every think it was anything other than an actual violin and piano.

Louis, this is just outstanding! I haven't listened to many of the Strad posts here, but I'm extremely impressed with the creative energy and technical execution you've achieved with this piece. Your understanding of the "voice" of each instrument is quite obvious. I enjoyed this tremendously!

Well, Louis!! I have been watching for something new from you. That was very beautiful. I could listen to more of it if there were more of it to listen to. Hard to say which was better -- your composition or your use of the Strad. Your skill in both is admirable!!
