How Midi Keyboards work (internal vs external libraries)
I was wondering if anyone knows how internal sounds a generally triggered from something like a stage piano. When I am playing the internal library, are the sounds being triggered by midi information (Velocity 0-127) or are they more directly affected by key presses, by current or something else?
Its just that I've always found velocities to be more consistant when playing sample libraries (even some of the more expensive ones) than sound libraries of Roland stage pianos i have owned. Its not just the libraries either, because even taking a close look at the midi velocity values, they jump up and down inconsistantly when i am using the same force on the same note. Am I the only one experiencing / noticing this problem? or is this a known midi keyboard issue? Cos its kinda driving me a bit crazy hehe!
