From this list: guitar teacher, piano teacher, bass teacher, banjo teacher, drum teacher, ukelele teacher, and vocal teacher; whose salary is highest?

    Banjo Teacher!

Can't say I've ever seen a job posting for a banjo teacher in the UK but I'll be on the lookout.

no, no, you're missing the point...

the banjo teacher teaches banjo at night after his regular day job at the South Carolina Stock Exchange...

all the OTHER teachers TEACH for a living.

You know, "banjo" spelt backwards is "ojnab" -- that should
    tell you something, right there...

I was surprised to see ukulele. I didn't think anyone played a ukulele anymore. Because of the rarity, uke teachers should be on top of the salary list.

I wonder how the string and horn teachers rank.

Well, over the years I have taught dozens of people to play the guitar and only two to play the banjo (including my father when he retired). Not such a popular instrument and I'm more than surprised by the stats quoted above.

For a number of years I made a very good living playing the banjo and still gig from time to time, all the other banjo players I encounter are self taught like myself, maybe that tells you something.

Hey Gary and everyone, remember that caption contest with the contorted banjo player? that came to mind when reading this. Do you suppose he earns a double salary, one for banjo and one for contortionism?? And does he teach his students to play like that, I wonder?

An old friend once defined "Perfect Pitch" as tossing an accordian into a dumpster where it ricochets off bagpipes and squashed a banjo!

Well, I guess you haven't spent much time in Hawaii. It is still their national instrument.
