    Word of the Week: BODACIOUS

Vivmarsh has suggested our new word for the week:

    BODACIOUS

    Pronunced: bO-'dA-shus

    Bodacious means:

    1. OUTSTANDING IN A SHOWY WAY; splendid
    2. BOLD or BLATANT
    3 OUTRIGHT, UNMISTAKABLE
    4 : REMARKABLE, NOTEWORTHY <a bodacious bargain>
    5 : SEXY, VOLUPTUOUS <bodacious babes>

Synonyms: Blatant, remarkable, audacious, impressive, or attractive.
Etymology: probably blend of bold and audacious

I've heard some bodacious music in the Listening Room lately!

Thanks Viv for this week's word.

And feel free to volunteer some of your favorite words for the next Word of the Week.

One of my brother's favorite words. His son was using it at a very early age referring to meaning 5!

A magnificent choice for our weekly lexicographical
    perambulations: lubricious and concupiscent, yet
with only an unostentatious modicum of lechery and
    lasciviousness...

There once was a lady bodacious
Whose business employed lots of geishas
    Though not in Japan
    They still "got their man"
    With techniques considered salacious.
In theory there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice there is.

Thank you, Gary, for taking up my suggestion. I've waited until now to show up on this thread so that no-one considers me to be definitions 1, 2, 3 or 4, let alone 5.
