I've just made some recordings of a pair of Rattlesnake Eggs (those annoying hematite magnets that you throw in the air, and they make a buzz as they 'find' each other). Primarily as an experiment (I'm fronting a new music tech course at school, and know very little about recording, so I thought I'd try out a few mics and audio interfaces), but the recordings turned out OK, so I've built a Kontakt program for the samples from each mic.
You can download them here if you want
The AKG65 samples are arranged in round robin on three keys (One for On-Axis rattles, one for off-axis rattles, and one for On-Axis squeaks). The others are simply spread across the keyboard. Feel free to make other programs, repitching the samples etc.
ps Thanks to those of you who made suggestions as to how to record these magnets. I haven't managed to lay my hands on a PZM or a shotgun mic as yet, but I'll certainly try both asap.
