Contest Winner for Naming the Garritan 64-bit Sampler

A short while back ago we held a contest to name the new Garritan sample engine. See this link: http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/...ad.php?t=51219

We now have a winner for the Contest.

The name selected for our sampler is:

    The Aria Engine

This name was submitted by CallMeZoot.

    Aria means:
    1. melody, tune; specifically : an accompanied elaborate melody sung (as in an opera) by a single voice

2: a striking solo performance (as in a movie)
This new engine will enable you to make 'a striking solo performance' with our upcoming instruments. So the name fit well. And it's simple and elegant - like our new 64-bit engine.

There were so many good suggestions (over 500) that were posted or sent via email or private message. And it was difficult to select one. Many thanks to Chris who will be contacted regarding his prize.

And thanks to all who participated to help come up with a name.

    Gary Garritan

Congratulations on all the new things you're developing.

Is this sample playback engine going to be available for standalone use? Will it be possible to adapt other libraries to play in it?

Personally I think it's long past time for Kontakt to get some serious competition.

I congratulate both Gary G. and Co. on their selection, and CallMeZoot (is that name a Monty Python reference from "Castle Anthrax" in "Monty Python's the Holy Grail"?) for the fitting entry.
    Cheers,
    Chris
