    Picture of a Moment

    Picture of a Moment

I recently spent money, that I should have saved for student costs, on the Strad and the Gofriller. As a test I used them on this piece that I had written for a wedding. All I can say is WOW... had been amazed by what I had heard here, but the reality really slaps you on the side of your head.

The college's production of Julius Caesar is a bout 2 weeks from opening...most of the play's score is my music!!! I will try to post some of the high points soon. I thought that the conspirators theme turned out very well!

Anyway, enjoy this piece...and I will try to get on here more often. Classes are killing me again this term! Grrrr!!! (primordial scream)

Classes this semester for me are a pain as well. I guess the easy days are over.

This is eerily beautiful. You get some great sounds out of these. I am also impressed now bu this library!!!

Congrats on your music in the play.

    Well done on this piece

Wow! Lovely music and a real killer combo and good use of the harp also.

I tried using the Strad for something recently and as hard as I may I could not get it to give me the sound I wanted.

I'm thinking that these instruments were recorded or miced much differently than the GPO instruments and they work well for some things and maybe not so well for others.

Or it could just be the user.

Anyway, it was great to listen to.

What a beautiful piece of music.
This is really high class writing. Very nicely rendered as well. What did you use to do the rendering and input?

Looking forwards to your posts from Julius Ceasar.

    Hello, Paul

Despite the issue of difverting some student funds to the purchase of the Strad and Gofriller, - I'm rather sure you're pretty happy with your decision!

"Picture" sounds absolutely wonderful. Excellent scoring for these solo strings and Harp. Sophisticated and sure composition, recorded very nicely.

And how great that you've done some theatre music now, for Shakespeare no less! I am really looking forward to hearing your work from that.

Thank you so much for this exciting post.

Really good writing here and just absolutely great
playing of the Gofriller and Stradivarius. I think you
made a wise decision in purchasing these marvelous
instruments. You play them very well.

As I listened, I couldn't believe the realism involved
as you played the Gofriller. To a lesser degree, the
Stradivarius, but not to devaluate its sound. I was
just more impressed witht the Gofriller.

I'm sure your Julius Caesar score is tops. Will be
    waiting to hear it also.

Very convincing. I could easily forget I was listening to a computer and imagine I was listening to the local classical radio station.

Paul, it's great to see you with us again -- and quite
a fine job on this... top-notch writing in it, and the
    rendering... first rate.

Those strings were a sound investment (so to speak)
for you, I think; you handle them extremely ably, and
they really make this piece shine. It would be very
easy to forget, listening to this, that it's coming from
a box full of wires... lol!

Bring on the Caesar, my friend! Looking forward to it!

    All my best,

Nice piece, and WONDERFUL work with the violin/cello. The cello, in particular, is beautifully rendered - very realistic and expressive. The violin is a close second. Some of the nicest use of these libraries that I have heard.

Best of luck with the production of the play - sure it will go well.
