I noticed in the news that the Writers Guild of America is about to go on strike. One of the main issues is for payments for TV shows and Movies downloaded or streamed off the internet. From what I understand, the writers do not receive payments for these downloads while they do receive payments for each DVD sale.

The very issue comes up those those to compose for TV or film. Can the composers receive payment for Internet downloads.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the screen writers and what implications that may have for composers royalties.

Any comments?
