Do a Triton Studio, RME HDSP 9632 and Cubase 4 play nice using an Optical connection?

I'm about to purchase a new DAW, soundcard and upgrade to Cubase 4.
I would like to use the Optical Out on my Triton to connect with the 9632 using Cubase 4.
Does anyone have the same or similar HW/SW configuration?
    thx,
    ciao, Dan

    Thx ProToolsGuy,
Some other TS owners have said that they prefer using their analog connections because some of the progs/combis sound "warmer".
Have you ever found that to be true as well?
    ciao, Dan
