    Autumn

Well, Autumn is just about over so I better post this tune.

Using GPO, CMB, Alti Vista's VGP, SampleTank and a couple of sound clips from YouTube.

This captured the essence perfectly. With all the different parts to this song each mood of autumn is portrayed. I especially like the soft dreamy intro. What a fun song to hear and very appropriate timing.

Hey, Phil - This is so nice! The progression of moods is really captivating - Quite a large span covered in a compact format.

Really solid production values in this too. Great!

It has to be the most intriguing piece I've ever heard from you. - It's always great to see when you've made more time to work on your music. THAnks - you're right, that with fall almost over--it was high time to post this!

A nice series of shorts. Some portray the season pretty well – the first one is my favorite.

    Phil,

This is very nice...really interest ideas and transitions. Hopefully it will lead into a equally pleasant winter.

The leaves are falling in the beginning. Then Octoberfest. Raise the tankards high just in time for the autumn rains to come. I really like this piano section.
I can feel the winds blowing and the storms brewing.

Back to the peaceful trees that are now empty of their leaves.

I guess the octoberfest theme works for thanksgiving as well. The football teams are on the field preparing for kickoff.

Visions of the storms of winter?

Great piece that captures Autumn in all of its glory!

    Well done

    Re: Autumn

    Hello Julie

    Thanks for the nice comments.

The first part, which I finished back in early autumn, was going to be it but I decided to expand the music as the season progressed.

    Randy(rbowser)

    Glad you enjoyed it.

I haven't done anything quite like this so it was a fun experience.

It's been finished for a while but I didn't want to post until my work slacked off a little.

I composed another kind of whacky tune earlier but I have been a little hesitant to post it. It's sort of Zappaesque. I might anyway just for fun.

A fine set, here, Phil: first that lovely elegy; then
the festive central movement, balanced afterward
by the specter of where autumn inevitably leads...

    I'm quite partial to small "suites" like this;
enjoyed it: The variety of approach well suits
    the season.

    My best,

Thanks for the positive comments. I appreciate it.

    Thank you sir.

All but the first part was just jammed on the piano in a few minutes and then worked on some.

Yes, the winter is my slow time and hopefully I'll put some of that untapped energy into my music.

    Thanks for the applause Ron.

I think you pretty much summed it up.

If you listen carefully to the witch cackles the piano part might take on an additional meaning as it was partly inspired by Iggy Pop's The Passenger which is also the title of an upcoming movie about on his early career to be played by Elijah Wood.

Thanks for the kind and thoughtful comments David.

I also really enjoy suites and they are also great for young listeners.
