    Westgate Studio Products

Recently I've been giving a hard re-listen to the Modular series releases that Tim has made available. I think these are fantastic and although I own some nice woodwind and brass samples, these are easily just as good and in some cases much better, more expressive. I think the realism is superb!

I like the way you can buy just what you want. One instrument for one price.
I simply adore the flute and Oboe samples.

There's a few of you out there that own these but I can't help wonder...
I get the impression they are not as popular as they should be.

I also wonder if they will ever release a complete set.

These are extraordinary sample libraries and some will be my next purchase but I'm still getting over buying EWQLSO Platinum and SISS.
Took me months to convince the Misses.

Now it seems I have to find a new tactic

Wish me luck, gonna need it.

    You are not alone.

I also own at least one product from Westgate, namely the Flute library.
    Its excellent.

Next year I'll buy the Horns library too.

I think Tim will be making a complete set.
He just released his Timpani library.

We have to be patient, and spread the word
    best regards

I use all the current Woodwind Westgate librarys in conjunction with EWQLSO Plat and find that with a little tweeking they blend really well . I like to use different libraries for pairs of woodwinds and 4 horns as I think it creates a more realistic sound as no two players ever sound the same. I'm waiting for Westgate to come up with a brass library with different mutes.

Can't disagree, I own the complete woodwind and French Horns. I'm particularly looking forward to the harp library.

I too have been quite impressed with many of the demos and am looking for something to complement my EWQL Platinum as the winds lack a certain x-factor for certain styles. This thread is making me look at them real hard.

Having said that, some of the demos are quite poor I find, and this is a good example. Really static and bland samples that all sound the same. I honestly went back and forth from thinking this was a duduk (at first) then a uilian bag pipe, my wife thought a pan flute (from the kitchen making a turkey however) I had a few thoughts of a wind stop on a pipe organ before I settled in on...

    I didn't notice that before, that's cool!

Nice to read some thoughts about these releases, has anyone ever read a review on them? I don't think I've ever come across one.
