    Does GOS exsist???

Hey i heard a bit about GOS but the link on the Garritan site is not working.
Is GOS an actually library or does it just mean the strings used in GPO?

Garritan Orchestral Strings was GPO's predecessor, but is now extinct. It was a GS based library, where GPO is Kontakt based.

The second version of GOS may appear in a not so distant future. Have a look here:

    and here:

    Yes!
    It is it absolutely wonderful!
    Worth every penny!

Without starting too much here I honestly and respectfully think the GOS is beyond the strings in GPO as far as realism and options.

I understand the GPO is more economical but you might as well invest the money into the GOS if you want as much realism as you can get with a Garritan product.

I hope there is a GOS 2 especially for us GigaStudio users! If not, I'll have to stick with the original - and that's OK with me.!

PS I use GOS in all my compositions.

    Re: Does GOS exsist???

GOS will exist in the future as posted in the updates to the updates at the top of the general Garritan forum area. This will be a 24 bit version with much advanced features. There will not be a GigaStudio version. It will be using the new Aria engine that was developed for the Steinway Piano library.

Wow, that's a real disappointment for us loyal GOS/GS users.

So to get GOS 2 I have to buy extra to run it. And if I ever buy another library I can't be apart of this forum.

What is a guy to do?

It's my understanding that GOS2 will come with ARIA, so you won't have to actually buy anything else, you will just have to use ARIA instead of Giga.

Yes, GOS2 will come with the ARIA player. No other software will be needed except for a sequencer or notation program. It will work with PC's or MAC's. Also, the PC version will have both 32 and 64 bit versions. The x64 version will be able to handle as much memory as you can put in your machine!

    Re: Does GOS exsist???

Oh OK, I see, But, Can I still run the GS with the Aria Player? B/C all my other libraries are Giga based format. See what I am saying? I need to know if I can use the GOS2 Aria with all my other Gigastudio instruments and be able to sequence them all with my Overture 4.0 program at the same time... ???

If not, I may need to purchase other Aria compatable libraries or a CPU system to run both of all are compatable, the GS and Aria ...

Thanks for the feedback on the products.
