A simple question about sample rate

I am used to render the stuff at 96K/32 bits in sonar 5 pro.
But as the GPO samples are 44.1 why should I do that?

    Hi Raymond,

    You shouldn't.

96K files are huge compared to 44.1 and if you consider that 44.1 does not devide nicely into 96, the computer will have to do some nasty things to the samples in order to make them play at 96, and be the correct pitch.

Unless you are mixing something that is going to end up on a DVD, there is usually no reason to use a sample rate higher that 44.1.

There will be as many disagreements with my opinion as there will be new sample rates in the future.
This is my understanding of it anyway.

Thanks, I thought so myself. But this is a habit I inherited from older doings with the old CoolEdit.

    Have a nice sunday,
