My children loved these tunes and characters. I like to have fun with such material. All KP2 strings.

Great string writing, Old Man. You are the master of chord substitutions and big, fat, velvety sounds.

I enjoyed this very much. Do some more.

Nice work. It brought back memories of watching those chipmunk Christmas shows with my kids many long years ago.

Larry's comment hit it for me: "big, fat, velvety". Wow,
what a sound, Steve -- as ever, great orchestration in
    this!

    Steve:

Great voicing on this. Yes, you are a master at
substitution chords and your orchestrations always
    pique my theoretical imagination.

Thanks so very much for your kind words. It is really gratifying to have my "reharmonizations" acknowledged by learned peers.

Thumbs up Re: "A Chipmunks Christmas"

Hey, my all time favorite Christmas tune, ever since i was about six i think.
I sang along with them when i was a kid, although i didn't really know what the heck they were saying, didn't know all the words until i grew up and got the lyrics off the internet.

Great reharmonizations, Steve! I had a feeling this would sound great orchestrated and it does, particularly with the SOS touch and your arrangement.

I was going to do a rendition of this tune last year for submitting for the 06 Garritan Community Christmas CD, but the son of the writer, who now owns the copyright, never replied to my email request for permission, so i never did it.
