    A dark theme

Came up with this after funning around with KH Concert strings.

I think the melody sounds familiar, but I can't think of what. I always wonder if I am creating an original melody or I am pulling something out of my subconscious

There's also some VSL cello, and EW choirs.

    Nice composition.
I can't comment of the possibility of it being an other more famous melody but I do like what you've done.

hehe im somewhat of a connesiour when it comes to dark themes, and well, while it does utilize a pretty formulaic chord progression , it does sound quite nice nontheless.

the only obvoius resemblence i can think of, is perhaps to "gollums theme ( ithink it was called) " or something in lotr, but it is a quite a standard recepy for "dark music" so it might realy be apllied to any ol spooky theme.

    sounds good though.
but dont realy like the choirs, they sound a bit..artificialy pithced in the beginning there...is it Vota? or my ears lol.

Pehaps the contrast is a bit to stark when the strings fade out and leave the solo woodwind, it sound a bit bare amd redundant to me to reapeat the same melody again, i think it would make a stronger statment to have the last solo part play something else and perhaps more monotounous?

Thanks for taking a listen Steve

Pzy-Clone, ya maybe I was thinking of Gollum theme. The choir is EWSC Sopranos, with the mod wheel vibrato and volume ramped up.

I stuck the flute at the end as an afterthought, it seemed to need something there, not sure what else to put

    Thanks.

    Hey flight,
You've got a really good sound to your strings there. Nice mood, too. I can hear a little of the gollum thing, but also, I can hear a little of Sibelius "Swan of Tuonella" in the 'celli rise near the beginning. Great sound though, and since Sibelius could be quite dark (heh heh), you're in good company!

    Thanks Mahlon

You know, I don't think I've heard Sibelius Maybe I shouldn't admit that

    I'll go find some now

it's sounds nice, but to my taste chord changes needs longer overlapping... more connected... dunno how to describe it...

    lukpcn, thanks for listening

Although, I'm not sure what you mean

Chords changes too fast? or Voice leading?

the releases could be longer and then all would be more overlapping...
