CMB Brass Fanfare: Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

Each year for the Dallas Wind Symphony's Christmas concert I compose a fanfare for brass and percussion to be played in the foyer prior to the concert. Sometimes they are original, sometimes based on a carol. I have posted Garritan/Finale MP3 versions of these for the past couple of years and I'm back at it again, this time with the Concert & Marching Band library.

This year I chose "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing"... For some reason it wanted to be very bombastic and classical. Hope you enjoy.

P.S. I also wrote a full band piece for this concert - I will post the CMB MP3 soon!

Good Job!!! Makes me wish that I could get the Band set! Grrr.

I have really grown to appreciate brass since I came back to college. Until I did...I was always partial to strings. Anyway, good job! It sounds GREAT!

    Hi, David!

I have really enjoyed your previous marching band posts, so couldn't push Play fast enough on this new post from you.

Really great arrangement - I love your harmonies and original rhythmic phrasings in this. And how about that CMB to realize it with? Nice!

Beautiful work. It's going to be exciting for you to hear the Dallas Wind Symphony performing this!

P.S. And what a fantastic addition to the Garritan Christmas CD this would have been. Maybe next year!

    David:

Absolutely wonderful arranging and rendering. The Dallas
folks will be proud to display this audio gem.

The percussion is really great (along with everything else).
