Is Intel Atmosphere working for you?

For the first time today I went to Atmosphere to try in use in a project.

I am using Pro Tools 7.3.1 on a Dual 2.66 with OSX 10.4.9, and in the same session had RMX and Kontakt 2.2.3. (not a lot of voices though)

After loading up Atmosphere, I got buffer over-run messages, then a hard crash, and then the dreaded gray death veil that says you must shut down your computer.

Never happened before on this computer.

Anybody getting the Atmosphere Wrapper to work on an intel Mac?

Sure....working fine here. Performance depends a lot on the system. You are using a laptop? Which one?

Note the performance charts on the public beta site. Be sure to report your findings to tech support.

    Hi Eric!

I am on a Mac Pro 2.66 with 4 gig of RAM

I checked the charts and at 512 it says I should be getting the best results.

Something definitely seemed incompatible with the wrapper as I have been using this system for 6 months heavy without a hiccup.

Could it be a possible problem in conjunction with Kontakt?

It is working but it's out of tune. I wonder if that's because I'm at 48k instead of 44.1?

Hi Eric -- I am having this tuning problem and I just checked again. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

I am using Digital Performer v5.13 on an Intel Mac. It's a quad (2xdual 3.0GHz) with 9 gigs of memory. According to the DP is using 1.4 gigs of real memory and 2 gigs of virtual (why, I don't know!). I don't use plug-in effects much (mostly use outboard stereo reverb and that's it). I have Ivory running, an instance of Kontakt 2.2.3, MachFive 2.0, and Stylus RMX (naturally).

Running 24 bit, 48k. This is a European film so it's at 25 fps but that doesn't usually affect audio at all.

Would love to use it on the Mac -- I am probably imagining it but I think it sounds better than on my PCs, where it is at the moment.

    Thanks! Love your stuff!
    Kind regards,

    John

Re: Is Intel Atmosphere working for you?

checked with your support and Sam Pursglove on your team fixed it right away -- needed a more recent version of the wrapper to work outside of 44.1.

    Here's what I did:

    1. went to: Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components

    2. Used "Get Info" on the AtmosphereWrapper.component file and realized it was version 03.

    3. Trashed it.

    4. Reinstalled version 06

Restarted DP and everything is working fine.

    Thanks Eric!
    Kind regards,
