Samples or VSTi for upright/double-bass and brushed drums

    Hi everyone,

I'm looking for either samples or VSTi(s) to do some vocal-Jazz mockups
(piano, upright, drums & vocals). I do have a rather complete collection
of Pianos-instruments & samples, but I'm looking for some good quality
    stuff for Upright & Drums...

So any suggestions are really welcome.

    Hi,

there will be soon the VSL upright bass available: http://vsl.co.at/en/211/496/721/533/421.htm

    Listen to the demos.

http://www.echochamber.ch/ has a nice free Upright Bass with of course far less articulations as vsl.

For drums i like Toontracks EZDrummer very much.

    Hi again,

although I wrote that I was looking for "Jazz"-style stuff, I should
probably explicitely write that I'm looking for plucked bass - for
drums I had already written that I'm looking for brushed ones...

    Hello,
Upright Bass from VSL is a new package with only plucked articulations.
EZdrummer (check out Nashville add-on or vintage drums) has brushes as well!!!

Do you know when the VSL-instrument will be available and
    the approximate pricing?

    Best regards,

Before I would pay and download this, I would listen here:

    http://www.garritan.com/jazz.html

For only ca. 130.- € on this Library you get very cool basses and drums, and many great other instruments... , and you don`t need a dongle.

The Vienna Upright has already been available for quite a few days. A somewhat cumbersome download however: some of the cab-files downloaded reasonably fast, others excrutiatingly slow ... And don't forget you'll also need a Syncrosoft USB-key for this (to store your license on).

Maybe also have a look at 'The Bass' from Bardstown Audio - a very fine sampled instrument - and Trilogy's acoustic (Spectrasonics) also has lost none of its attraction since it first appeared.

Where did you find the Garritan JABB for 130 Euro?

I was also thinking that seperate instruments for
Upright & Drums would probably provide more
    quality/articulations... than getting a complete
"ensemble" where I'd probably not use most of
    the other stuff...

    Tobias

PS.: Anyone here heard anything about the new
Chris Hein Bass library? The demos sound really
nice, but no info on release & price...
