    For all participants...

For all participants in the 3-day event, and everyone else too, a little poem for you:

To all you kind folks from far and near
I send you greetings and good cheer
For we have shared an event to remember
That shall tide us over till next December
Or maybe sooner; we'll wait and see
What Gary has in store for thee
And me and all who long
To bless the world with music and song.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!

    Rob,

That's quite a move from Australia! I moved to Arizona 9-1/2 years ago from Michigan. Couldn't handle the cold any longer.

This will be my sixth Northern Hemisphere Christmas - I still can't get used to the idea of it being cold at Christmas time!

Hi Jim! I'm in Scottsdale, near Mountain View, a little east of the 101.
And what about you? I think I saw you on the map, and it's down south somewhere, maybe Chandler or Mesa?

And by the way, I've lived in Michigan too--Ann Arbor, during college years, WAY back when. These Arizona winters are the best, aren't they!

    Rob,

I hope you're enjoying life in the good old U.S. of A. And what part of Arizona do you live in? At least Christmas here shouldn't be as much of a disturbance to your cultural traditions as most places in this country, unless you're in the higher elevations....

Saraswati, I'm not far from you - technically we're in Phoenix though we have the Scottsdale postcode - I'm not far from Tatum and Bell.

It's the little things that take me aback - like the voting system I became a US citizen last year just in time to vote in the 2006 mid terms - it was quite a shock to be told that the only place I could go to vote (if I wanted to vote on the day) was the church up the road!

Maybe we should form a Valley of the Sun chapter of the Garritan family!

Rob, I think that's a great idea! You're not far at all, maybe 25 minutes or so. And congratulations on your citizenship; it's probably not the easiest thing to qualify for.
