A while ago in a thread where I asked for advice on putting a machine together, someone mentioned 'Synergy' a program which allows you to take the mouse cursor off the edge of the screen and onto another.

I'm just getting to the point where I might want to incorporate this into my little LAN, and I was wondering if anyone else has much experience of it? I'm most interested in how much overhead it uses. If there's any chance that having this going in the background might reduce my polyphony, or increase latency, then I'd probably be willing to just keep using one mouse per machine. But deep down I'm a very tidy-minded person, and the elegance of just having one keyboard and mouse is very, very tempting if the cpu usage is going to be negligable.
