Hey...today I bought a Quad core 2.14GHz & 8GB RAM PC. I also bought windows XP 64x bit.
My question:What's the advantages of having 64? Is vista any better?
Could someone explain the differences?

At this point Windows XP x64 is working better than Vista for most users. Vista Service Pack 1 may help some of the performance issues.

I'd go with what Hayden said. I'm a much as a year away from Vista, maybe more. Everything is stable for me, and I don't want to mess with things.
You have xp pro? What's better...home edition or pro? And why?
pro has a couple of features that home is missing, but I can't remember what they are. Try googling it.
What do music composers need those features for?:P
Isn't it best to have the most clean os? I wonder why pro instead of home? What advantage does that have for the sound and stability?
If you want to run a network of PCs, all controlled by Remote Desktop, then you need Pro, at least on the DAW.Originally Posted by Audun_Jemtland
