    New song- "Iceland" -opinions welcome

    Hello everyone,

If anyone is interested, I thought I would let you hear the 1st of 4 songs on my upcoming CD that will feature sopranos. This piece is titled, “Iceland” and features one of the lead performers of the “Phantom” show in Las Vegas. I actually wrote it 20 years ago when I was 18 or 19, but resurrected it for my upcoming CD. I still need to replace the string samples with real string performers (recording in 3 weeks), and the song will still have to be mixed and mastered (I may have mixed the bass a little heavy), but I would still love to hear any thoughts or opinions.

http://www.seandockery.com/song-preview/ is the link- just click on "Iceland"

    Take care,

    Sean

Thanks! The piece was created using EWQL Platinum for the strings, Korg Legacy M1 (for the synths when the big drums kick in), Hypersonic 2, EWQL Symphonic Choirs, and a lot of miscellaneous percussion samples that I have tweaked over the years.

I am happy with the string samples, but cannot wait until I hear the real string performers in 3 weeks that I am recording. I am hoping that the string performers will add a bit more realism to the string parts.

Thanks, Joseph. I will definitely re-post it when I get the string tracks recorded.

Very cool song, Sean! It sounds like it should be on a movie soundtrack or something. BTW this forum rocks!
