Frank's MP3 Files Are Now Working

Some of you may be aware of my serious problems with the MP3 files associated with my threads and that they have not been working consistently, and, for the last couple of days, none of them have been working at all.

I have now switched completely to Box.net. I have added new links in every thread to the Box.net files. I have listened to every one of them, and they appear to work OK, now.

Several of you have asked that you be notified when my links are fixed so that you can listen to my posts. Probably, many others have just given up on the posts since they didn't work. So this is my notification that everything of mine should be working, now.

Here is a list of all of the threads I have posted (oldest to most recent). The Box.net links are listed with the pieces:
For some reason, these do not play if I hit the Box.net PLAY button, but they will play after downloading to my resident playback program by clicking on Box.net's MP3 title. (Maybe some of you 'experts' can tell me why this is happening. When you place the cursor over the Box.net PLAY button, the MP3 files that are reference all have a "#" at the end).
    1. Dueling Frenzy (my first post). http://www.box.net/shared/xhs00d4hwk
    2. 3 Brass Choirs in a Cathedral - Gabrieli. http://www.box.net/shared/740vi9kg8c
    3. Rollover Beethoven - 'Funeral procession'. http://www.box.net/shared/mbe7xvoo48
    4. Scarlatti - Sonata arranged for 5 different instrumental groups (5 short MP3 files).
    http://www.box.net/shared/jufwa6akgk (brass quartet)
    http://www.box.net/shared/5dgcfoagw4 (percussion)
    http://www.box.net/shared/u5c4bwqsgo (sax quartet)
    http://www.box.net/shared/omkgb8vsww (string quartet)
    http://www.box.net/shared/5c4r8ryw4c (woodwind quartet)
    5. Rachmaninov - Prelude in c# for Concert Band. http://www.box.net/shared/hux4v1se8g
    6. Borodin - Nocturn for Concert Band. http://www.box.net/shared/uy2k3dascg

I think that many people enjoyed the description with the piece (original posting) as much or more than the piece itself. But there is not room, here, to include the desciptions. You will need to to go the original post for those. Also, with a couple of the threads, there is some extensive discussion about programming techniques. Again, you will need to view the original threads to see these.

As always, I appreciate your critical comments. I have learned an awful lot in such a short time. I hope that you can see progress in the quality of my pieces. Please continue to offer comments and suggestions. Thanx for everything, ya'll.

Please listen to my pieces if you haven't, already. (Hey, listen to them multiple times, if you want. Since some of them are 'instrument rich', you may hear some things that you miss by only one hearing).

Frank, it would have been easier for us to actually add the links. Now we have to look it up, each one individually.

    Raymond -
Thanx for the comment. Yes, that would have been one way to go. But the Moderator seemed to indicate that grouping files together is not very preferrable. And, for those that didn't read the explanatory information or, for a couple of threads, the extended discussion about some techniques, that would not be available except by going to each individual thread, anyway.

Please don't ask people to jump through hoops in order to listen to your music. Folks just don't have time to go through this kind of rigamarole.

Just post a direct link to them.

Re: Frank's MP3 Files Are Now Working

    Hi, Frank

I'm glad you moved your work to Box.

The "Play" buttons are working perfectly for me - the player apppears and starts the music very quickly. I don't know why it's not working for you.

I'm the moderator you're referring to, but you seem to have misunderstood. What I suggested is that people don't like to have a huge list of pieces, long movements etc to absorb at once. But you're posting an archive of all your work so far, and that can be useful. I still wouldn't expect too many people to spend the afternoon so they can report to you how well you've developed, as you've asked, but it's still nice to have a page where we can find everything.

I'm just saying that now you've found a reliable storage space for your music, from now on post one thing at a time, even single movements for larger pieces, and you'll more likely have an audience willing to listen for a few minutes and then type a response.

    Frank

They all work fine for me also.

I know that now that you have things working you want a lot of feedback, but as Randy said, you will have much better luck posting one at a time.

I will say that I really enjoyed the Rachmaninov piece and others that I have commented on earlier in other threads.

Good to see you finally got all these working, Frank.

Particularly liked the Rachmaninov -- that'd be a
    knock-out, live... great job!

    My best,
