The Puzzle- June-Bug-Dan

Hi,

I just recentley finished this piece, I'm writing a few short pieces with a Game style in mind.
Meaning i'm writing for an imaginary game. (levels or Game menu and so on.)
This piece entitled 'The Puzzle' suggests a level where you are faced with a confusing conundrum in which you must complete to escape.

I can see this in a game. I am not a gamer myself, but have tried repeatedly to compose for them. You might want to check out CGEmpire.com. It is a site where gamers post their music and all other things related to gaming.

I think it worked well for a puzzle piece. I liked the first part the best.

It takes me back to my Dark Castle days. It was the first full blown computer game to use audio files with the actions. I was the second person that I know of to beat the game.

I really know extremely little about games - get this, I've never played one! - But I'm vaguely aware of the mood music that loops on them, and that part of video games has seemed at least vaguely interesting to me. Drama in game environment--yeah, I can appreciate that aspect.

And it seems to me that what you've written here would be perfect to underscore the tension of a player trying to unravel the mystery of The Puzzle.

I'm impressed - Sounds great to me! You've certainly made excellent use of some GPO instruments in it.

Enjoyed this - especially the last part. Doing gaming music these days has really come a long way as some of it is really quite good. I am a gamer at times (Halo Multiplayer-which is a riot! Alias MrBean)
