    Mata Hari

Typically, astronomers use their precious telescope time to search for specific molecules or atoms.

We were on our way to Planet Earth... who could even imagine that The new wide-band spectrometer at Arecibo could digest 800 megahertz chunks of data at a time.

    From first book:

"Later at night... I dreamt of my only true love. Why am I here, on this damned planet?

Dreamsequence...."She has her blond hair tied up with a blue ribbon. Her name is Harriet!
Sometimes she would joke that she is Mata Hari. She is strange girl... but so beautiful!"
Bongo was my only companion friend now.... I fell asleep again.
God was watching over me that night. I was the only one who had survived."

    AS I SAID BEFORE:

    ""
    This is uncommonly good!

    This is epic in nature.

The work bursts into huge neo-romantic dreamscapes of brilliance interlaced with shreds of harsh reality; the noble balance of military grandeur from the percussion is the key embellishment of the composition.

You are really doing something great here Fredrick. I know this style isn't everybody's "cup of tea" but this is a tremendous undertaking ... ""

I think this is my favorite piece of yours.

The brass work in this is beautiful.

You build the tension in this very well and release it with pizzazz.

    Well Done

And then the ending came - it had been hinted at throughout the piece but when it finally came and stuck around, it was that much greater because of those little glimpses of hope you'd given throughout the piece. It made me smile! Very nice work, looking forward to hearing more!

    Fredrick,

Wow...what a wide screen feeling this work has. Lots of great undertones and surprises throughout. This is really fine composing and production. Thanks for sharing it with the forum.

How many times, Fredrik, have I asked myself that very
    question? Hundreds, I say, hundreds!

    Seriously...

Fredrik, this is one wild ride, and I loved every second of
it. (I do like leaving the planet, I must admit.) The huge,
broad, unabashedly Romantic strokes of this are just
superb! There are moments in this, in their grand disregard
for the constraints of either gravity or harmony, that fly
out into the cosmos like rockets to the stars...

This is, plainly, music hammered from the shimmering platinum
    of joy. Wonderful!

    My best,

    Hi Gary,

You gave me an idea talking about widescreen, so I did a quick "Mata Hari" video fantasy:http://www.soundclick.com/members/de...content=videos

For those who want higher sound quality will of course have to listen to the mp3 The clip is first of all made to add a feel of adventure!

You wrote a very inspiring comment,

You capture the epic nature of the subject beautifully - both in your composition, and in your rendering. There is a nice sense of space (no pun intended); the reverb seems just right, and there is a real depth to the audio picture. While this is not normally my cup of tea, I really enjoyed this. I hope a lot of people take the time to listen.

Thanks for sharing this with us.
