Box.net

hi,

I recently set up a box.net account on the smallest package(£12.80 a year, 2GB limit) but when i link to a file that has been uploaded i only have the 'download' button i wondered how i can get the 'play' (stream) button?
Do i have to upgrade to a higher acount to do so?
It takes forever to download and i know that practicaly all members using 'Box' have the feature to allow the file to be streamed.
Can anyone help?

Well, quite a few of us seem to be using box net, and without trouble. When I follow a link to Box.net, I have the option of play or download. There may be a delay before the options appear, but all of my music works that way. Post a link and I will try it.

Well, the problem exists for me also. I use Box.net, so I will look into the thing and see if I can find an option that will be of use to you. I use the free Box.net, which allows 1 Gig storage and files must be smaller than 10 Mb.

I can only export .Wma files through Reaper the mp3 doesnt work!?!?

Use an external encoder then. Export to WAV from Reaper. Audiograbber is quite nice.

Well, your sound card might have some conversion options. I presume you can create .wav files? Windows Media Player might do the job, but there are many free programs available. See what Google will tell you.

Hello Dan,

First, regarding Box.net. Every time I try to connect to Box.net my anti-spyware (Zone Alarm) stops the connection because it has identified Box.net as a site that inflicts spyware. When I checked for further details it is reported that they have evidence of over 50 incidents of spyware being downloaded and therefore have blacklisted the site. As many people seem to use this site I might start a separate thread on this.

Regarding file conversion, are you trying to convert a .wav to mp3? If so, one way around this is to open the file in AudioGrabber, which is free and which Reegs has also mentioned, then save this file as an mp3. Alternatively one of the best file converters is Switch which is a paid-for utility. I find this excellent. I would be pleased to convert the file for you if you have some other way of getting it to me.
