I'm having a real problem with a score that I'm working with.
I currently trying to get a mockup of Beethovens 5th with GPO.
In the 4th mvt., LvB uses a couple of Horns in C. Quite often during the piece, they hit a high G. now often they do this while other parts are playing as well, but there are two places where no other instrument is playing. Of course, having silence in that portion is most disturbing.
The French horns in GPO (and in CoMB) only go up to a high F (aaarrrrgggghhh.... 2 bl**** semitones)
Is there any trickery to get a convincing sounding high G out of the horns?
