OT: I have a proper stage gig!

    Hi all,

I thought I would share this with you as I don't get many of these come my way.

I am playing at a holiday and travel show in Bournemouth, England on Saturday, this will just be me playing Didgeridoo and four years ago when I did this They had a huge number of visitors and so I might shift some CDs too hopefully.

If I can get any pictures taken I will share them when I get back

    Best wishes

No pressure there Simon - most aussies wouldn't know 'authentic didgeridoo' from the soundtrack to "Crocodile Dundee 2".

    Have fun!

    Thank you guys,

I play western style not the Yolngu Aboriginal style, But there are very few Aboriginal performers living here... So I am one of only a few that get te work..

I have only just come in so I will post some images later on..

Well it was a better gig four years ago, I got to sell loads of CDS and got some other work out of it too, this year next to nothing...

So My sample library and Didgeridoo fund are not as good as it could be... I am after a couple more good Didges and the one I am playing is about £650....

Yes. But it could be worse. No gig at all.

    That's great to see,

We need more live performers, and I for one would love some Didgeridoo samples.

Years ago Herbie Hancock and Dr. Bennie Maupin used a Bass Clarinet and several analog synths where they would drone together on lower registers and the sound was awesome.

I bet the Didgeridoo would sound even better,.........well it's bigger.

The song Butterfly off of the Thrust Album / CD was where it was prevalent.

I learned from that, and also learned the Bi-directional glides on the synths. I use a 4 zone Kurzweil Ribbon controller to do that effect and it is quite unique.

Acoustic instruments are great, synthesizers are great, hence both together are astounding.

These timbres are what make recordings and live performances unique.

    That Is My Quest.
