    The Attack Of The King

    Hi people, it's me again...

First, I wanted to thank to you all for your words, it's very nice too meet people who share the same passion for music. I want to keep sharing with you guys the things I do. Last night I started my second track called "The Attack of the King", it's a short one, but I think it's much better than the first one, I just finished it, if you ask me about the ambience and all that stuff, honestly, I have no idea...

    hope you like it!

About ambience - I have no idea, either!

I liked this piece a lot - the only technical thing I would add is that it seems too quiet; perhaps your Master Volume is set too low? I really had to crank up my speakers to hear this. Given that it seems to be large gestures, the volume is an issue. It also ends kind of abruptly - I take it this is a segment of a longer movement?

Really nice language. Look forward to hearing this develop!

I'm sorry but I'm pretty new with this, when you say Master Volume, you mean the Computer's volume?, because I checked and I found the only way is turning up the volume of each instrument(last night I checked and there were all almost at max), I don't know if there is a global option or control to turn it all up at the same time? or do I have to use the comment options (~C 1,100 for example) ?

How did you get this into an audio format? Are you using a sequencer? A notation program? Whatever you are using to set GPO in motion will have some sort of Master Volume level that you can adjust. It's not a big thing - I think your piece is terrific as it is; this was just a hint for the future.

Thanks rpearl. I use Sibelius and GPO, honestly I haven't looked for it with real patience. I record the piece with the GPO recorder, tonight I'll look for the volumen control that you talked about.

    Thanks again rpearl!!

It sounds like you are using Sibelius 4; you change the volume in the Mixer by adjusting each channel. If you use Sib 5, there is a Master Volume in the Mixer.

I also like this but I think you need to take some chances. It sounds a little predictable. Challenge the listener.

    Go crazy!

Also, you're giving the brass at the beginning a wawa effect.

Very good rendering and balance of instruments; has a very regal sound - appropriate for the title. Although, I wanted to hear more of an action sequence based on the title ... - no big deal. Very much enjoyed! A good skeleton to embellish on!

fastlane and M. Wiktor: I'll consider everything you guys wrote, and thank you for sharing your knowledge, 'cause I'll need a lot of it !!!
