Stylus RMX Expanded - capabilities for Pop/Rock songs

    http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/...ad.php?t=58707

I’ve been reading the above thread with interest in hopes that someone would show a link to a pop/rock song that was completely done with Stylus RMX and no other drumming software.

I have read all the comments about using other products which I may have to do.
But I would really like to stick to just one especially since I can see (and hear) all of the possibilities at ones disposal with Stylus RMX.

Am I correct to assume that with the libraries of Stylus RMX Expanded that one will have the ability to insert fills and intros more easily as well as using the Chaos function in Stylus?

I wouldn’t mind, in the future, to import other libraries such as Drums on Demand or Discrete Drums, for example, via REX2 if I want to add more possibilities to my drum loops.

In the meantime, however, has anyone just used Stylus RMX (with or without expansion libraries) as their drumming software in a Pop/Rock song that they’ve created?

If so, could you possibly put up a link so I could have a listen?

    Thx,

    Ciao, Dan

    Hi Dan,

    Go here... http://www.macobrothers.com/layout/music.html

I wrote and produced Track #3 (Cruel) all with Stylus RMX.

Track #1 (Lannigan's Ball) was also produced exclusively with Stylus RMX. Except for the Bodhran, that is from a Giga Celtic Library.

    HTH.

It's just a demo - not really mixed or finished, but this was done with RMX.

    Hi Toby,
    Thanks for the reply.
I had a listen to the two tracks.

Yes, that’s what I’m looking for.
It’s often difficult to know what a product can and can not do from videos, especially one as expansive as RMX.
But it’s obvious that a pop song can be drummed completely with this software.

Btw, your songs and website made me recall my old high school Mechanical drawing class and teacher, Mr. Burke.

The only music we were allowed to play in his class were Irish folk tunes and
The Clancy Brothers LPs often got played and sung to. HA!
Irish Rover and Finnegan’s Wake were very popular with Mr. Burke.
The only other non-Irish tune we were allowed to sing was Bamboo (Peter, Paul & Mary).
Maybe because we did a pretty good job of harmonizing that one. HA!
Thanks for allowing me to remember a fun earlier time.
    Ciao, Dan

"...not really mixed or finished..." ??? Really?

I'm not even going to ask what's NOT finished.
You must be planning on doing that at Abbey Road, right?
Great song and great use of RMX. Thx,

btw, I'm listening to a few of your "I presume" finished songs.
    Really liked Hide and Seek.
Are any of those others done with just RMX?

    Hey Dan,

Thanks. Glad you like it. I need to re-sing the song and record it with real drums and a real guitarist. I'm not much of an engineer, so want someone who knows what they're doing to make it cohesive.

I use RMX for lots of my songs. Some of the loops, some of the sounds. I usually do my own sequencing. I believe there is RMX on Hide and Seek. I like that one too

    Cheers!

    Hi Larry,
Yeah man. Three completely different styles and yet just one RMX.
I liked Hey Hey Baby the best.
    thx for replying.

    Hey Dan,
Thanks for the listens. I'm glad my tunes sparked a fun earlier high school time.

RMX is a great soft, if you haven't already, it's well worth the purchase.

Hi.I am interested in what people used to make the songs above..In regards to RMX that is..I haven't listened to them all just yet but am in the process..So can all of you describe how you did theese tracks?? It would be most enlightening..Loops??REX?? Factory content?? SAGE expanders?? Played into your sequencer by hand or using the exclusive function in RMX??

I for one would greatly appreciate any info in this regard.. Allways looking for new ways of doing things..Thanx in advance...JON
