My new piano piece...need someone to set my midi to piano..

    "It Was In The Spring"
folk piano song by Michael John

Hi group, I just wrote this short piano piece and I'm hoping someone might want to use my midi file and create a nice piano sound using your best piano samples. Especially interested in hearing it with Garritan Steinway but other piano samples ok too. My Roland sounds ok but not totally satisfied.

The piece is short, piano only, and only 1:28 minutes.

You can listen to it using my Roland piano at my acidplanet temp file site:

or download the wma directly here:

here is the midi file for your download:

The piece is in key of G, and tempo=90. The piece is complete, but if any notes stick out, feel free to adjust. Thanks!

    Mike -

Nice, mellow piece! Just what I needed to settle my spirits before sleep!

The Roland piano isn't a bad sound - but I think I know what you mean. I've spent years searching for a synth that had a decent piano sound. Believe it or not, there's a Casio that comes close to good . . . but it's otherwise lousy . . . key action, response, aftertouch--all leave everything to be desired. Even my Motif ES won't do the trick, when all is said and done.

Maybe one of the folks beta testing the upcoming Steinway will give this a whirl . . . that would be a treat!

    Thanks for sharing this.

Joe, thanks for the compliments. I was improvising for about 2 hours, hoping for something good, then this piece finally came to me. I'm thinking now it might fit nice with an upright piano sound...

That is a very pretty melody. I am impressed!

I would like to orchestrate it using strings and things, with your permission.

Very lovely work, Mike -- well done on melody and
    accompaniment, both.

    Much enjoyed!

Credit where due, I've always like the Roland piano
sound more than most. Yet, as a pianist, I've yet
to find any currently available piano sound completely
satisfying. To date, the GPO/Steinway is my strong
favorite -- and I'm sure the forthcoming Garritan
Authorized Steinway Model D Virtual Grand Piano will
    be head-and-shoulders above that.

    My best,
