"Our Past" (It's been a while...) [GPO]

    Hello, everybody!
It's been a while since my last access/post/GPO composition... I guess it's the bad side of having too much interests (and things to do)!

Anyway... I had the (bad?! ) idea of showing, in my YT channel, my fossils collection... but because of my passion for this subject, it seemed to me that "a bit" of introduction was heavily needed.

This is how my series "Our Past" has born (I wonder if I'll be able to go through it till the end...).

    The link to the playlist:

So far there are a trailer, the first episode... and an opening theme, by the way!
    GPO and nothing else.

I've "probably" exaggerated with the crash (bad habits are hard to get rid of! ), I hadn't mixed it (yet)... though, I'm quite satisfied with it.

By the way, there will be an ending theme as well!

    Happy listening!

    Hello Daniele,

Wonderful to see you back with us again, my friend.
You should not stay away so long!

This is -- again -- excellent work, Daniele; strong,
engaging, motivated writing with energy and drive.

As for your cymbals... lol -- well, yes, maybe you
could use them a little less. I think you would find
this music would be even more impactful if you went
back through the score and reduced the crashes
    by about half.

Now, you must go finish this for us, Daniele. Such
a strong start demands it! As for the subject
matter, it is an area that fascinates me, too; and
I will look forward to what you do with this.

    Always my best,

    David

    Hello, David!

Haha, you're right, I shouldn't stay away for so long! ^_^
Eh, Life... sometimes it leads you in new places, in new times... quite good ones, actually... ... but, definitely, there was always that little voice in my mind reminding me about this community of friends and artists... and about that little, amazing jewel called GPO!
It's quite exciting to be back!

I'll really have to go back through the whole piece, reducing the amount of those invading crash cymbals!
And, it'll be a good chance for to mix it a bit, mixing a bit of each stereo channel with the other one, as you taught me!

Thank you so much for your advice... and for your kind appreciation, it always makes me smile! :-)

About my series on fossils and stuff... well, in my spare time I'm preparing the second episode... oh my, it's a titanic quest! xD
Next time, I'll limitate myself to simply show my collection, instead than filling it with scientific explanations and weird animated characters, haha! xD
Jokes apart, I'm enjoying a lot the whole making! :-)

Have a great everything, my friend!
    Thank you so much!

Nice thinking, Daniele as far as the music material
to accompany the video. I will agree with David
that the cymbals need a "little less" time.

The overall sound and orchestration is really good. I
enjoyed listening and watching. Excellent background
    music.

Thank you very much, Jack! :-)
    Oh, I'll take care of those excessive cymbals... sometimes I tend to exaggerate with them, haha! ^_^;;
Thank you for your advice and for your kind appreciation: I enjoyed as well reading your words!

    Have a great everything!

    Hi, Steph! ^_^

Thank you very much, you're very kind!
And you're right, it's really short!

But let me tell you that I've already begun a different version of this piece, with a completely different mood...
...and it's going to be longer!
And... your words made me think to the possibility of... an extended version of this one!
I can't promise anything, about this second possibility... but I already have some parts playing in my head...
It always begin like this, you know? With a whole, big, powerful orchestra playing in my head... the hardest part is to transcribe everything!

    Have a great everything!

Yes, that works very well as an introduction. It left me wanting more, so hopefully it fulfilled your intention.

    Well done!
