    "Stable?"

As long as I do not use too many data streams - yes.

With other words most of the time I use a host on the slave computer that holds the instruments and only sends a few stereo audio streams back.

    Re: FX Teleport?

I personally haven't had the greatest experience with FX-max teleport in terms of stability and performance, though I know many others speak the world of it.

I recently switched to a hardware solution with RME sound cards (which were recommended to me by Hannes) sending the audio streams over ADAT lightpipe and using Musiclab MIDI-over-LAN to send MIDI data, and I find it a night-and-day difference from teleport. Much more stable and higher performance. No more weird crashes/hangs/stuck notes.

I have two slaves, one with teleport, one with the RME/lightpipe. Both work, although the lightpipe slave is my first choice.

Which RME product do you use/recommend?

    Re: FX Teleport?

I use the RME HDSP 9632 cards - each supports 4 stereo audio I/O channels over the ADAT lightpipe connections at 44.1khz.

If you need more than 4 stereo audio channels @44.1 going from one box to the other (or you want to connect more than two boxes together), the HDSP 9652 will do 12@44.1.

Going above 44.1khz decreases the number of stereo audio I/O channels that can be transmitted (ex. 96khz gives you half the channels of 44.1)

For the VSTi that I use, FXT works very well, in both studios.
