    For you to enjoy

    Hi, all.
I've just acquired a couple of sample libraries and having installed them I wrote this small baroque piece.

Hope you enjoy it. No mastering is employed except using some reverb. Opinions and advice are welcome.

El-Russo - very nice elegant writing there!

On the performance side, could I suggest more dynamic variation (maybe terraced dynamics), and try to shape the phrases to make the meter (12/8?) a bit clearer. You could also pay a bit more attention to bringing out the different voices in a more polyphonic way - again, on the performance side.

Again, theres definitely some good material in there!

Very good! I like your work.

    What instruments did you use?

Get yourself one of the Garritan libraries, post some of your music in the "Listening Room" and let us hear more of your compositions.

I have to say that this is one of the better small string arrangement renderings I've ever heard. Very believable. Kudos!

Thank you very much for your encouragement, guys.

    - I used VSL Solo Strings in this piece. It's amazing what the technology of today is able of doing, isn't it? Some ten years ago making a virtual orchestra recording with the same level of realism was impossible.
As for a GPO recording challenge, I readily accept it. Let's see what comes out of it.

EricWatkins - you've been very, very kind to me. Thank you.

    Hello Michael,

This is fine composing, well balanced and beautiful!
As to performance, play each instrument as if it is a solo part so it shines.
I hope we will soon hear more from you!
