I just joined this forum today although I've been lurking here for awhile. I read through the Rimsky-Korsakov tutorial on orchestration while I was waiting for the arrival of Finale '08 with the GPO.

This is a 'dream come true' for me as a composer. Composing orchestral music is something that I have always wanted to do. Now, we have the tools to make it an easy reality to write and hear our efforts. Thank you MakeMusic and, especially, Gary Garritan!

I received my copy of Finale '08 on Friday last and I have already completed a short waltz for ochestra. The software is rather intuitive and easy to use. I won't say that there isn't a learning curve because I know there is more for me to learn to master the software. But it is a simple way to get going.

I have already learned many things by reading various postings in this forum. Thank you all for being helpful and supportive of each other.
