    Dedieu-Peters #2 - aux rÍves (string 4tet)

So I had some free time, and finished the 2nd movement of Madeline Dedieu-Peters' Trois PiŤces "aux rÍves" ("to dreams"... is that right, Michel?)

This one was a LOT harder to sequence - there are some parts that simply will NOT render right when using a transposed Strad as a substitute viola.

If you missed the 1st movement, you can listen to it HERE

Even so, this is still a very lush, evocative and "dreamy" piece, a fitting middle movement to the set.

    Enjoy!

    Jonathan:

Lovely strings. I can see why you wanted to program
this piece. Very expressive. I think you did a great job
of bringing this mock-up to life.

Thanks, Jack - glad you enjoyed it!

(and I just saw your comment on mvt one - thanks for that as well!)

I'll get to mvt 3 someday, but probably not until after the end of March.... too many other things to do!

    Peace,

I enjoyed the first movement and now am enjoying the second as well.

For some reason, I think that a string quartet provides a clearer vision of music than any other genre and as such has always been my favorite.

I look forward to the 3rd movement.

    Well done

I havenít heard Madeline Dedieu-Peters' work before. I really liked this. I had missed the first movement before so I gave both a quick listen. Great stuff and you did a great job rendering it.

Another fascinating piece by Madeline Dedieu-Peters...
I hope you eventually find more of her work, Jonathan.

Gorgeous work on the rendering, my friend. I've listened
through this several times now, with much admiration
of the craftsmanship. Even on my JBL's (probably the
cruelest test of any), the sound on this is superb.

    My best,

This is captivating music and you did great job of sequencing and rendering it.

It just seems too short. I wish it was longer.

Now I'm really curious about the final movement.
