What a gorgeous treatment of a great old standard. Boy, does this one take me back. I can almost hear Nancy Wilson singing as you play. You have some strong chops, my friend. Thanks for doing this one.

Personally, I'm waiting for caller IQ.
Dan:
A beautiful rendition of one the greatest old standards ever written.
I really admire your harmonic language.

Thanks alot guys!
I just hunt and peck on the piano.
I copied this by ear from an old cassette tape of my friend Jay Oliver playing it one night in the studio.
I don't have those kind of chops, but boy if I didWoo Hoo!
I just didn't want this to be misleading in that way.

Hi Abraham,
what a nice compliment.
Unfortunately, I don't have the music for that
recording of Here's That Rainy Day". Funny it is
raining outside right now.
My good friend Jay Oliver played it one night at the
studio many years ago out of his head just for kicks,
I had recorded it onto a cassette just to take with me
in the car back when cassettes were cool
I do everything by ear, I copied his chords from the
cassette tape andf used Digital Performer to make my
own recording.
I could email you the midi file from Digital
Performer.
I'm not sure if that would be something you could use,
but you are certainly welcome to it.
I love chocolate cake too, so I can relate to your
analogy, Jay does play beautiful chords. Did you hear
it on Northern Sounds?
Let me know if you would like the midi file.
Thanks Abraham!

Nice work Dan! I guess I'm still climbing out of my classical-only music education background, 'cause I have to admit that I've never heard this before. But I like it.[Heck, I was 22 before I heard Mancini's Moon River...or any of the famous tunes from Casablanca. I got a LOT of catch-up to do.]
Dan,
Have you considered re-releasing this with the new Authorized Steinway? I'd love to hear it with the Player Perspective.
Just a thought on a lazy Saturday morning.![]()

nice, Dan. Do you mean the same Jay Oliver that does all of the keyboard work with Dave Weckl? If so, I am really envious.
