    "Attack of the King" Fixed

    Hello people.

First I want to thank everybody who gave me those great advices about the piece "Attak of The King" that I posted a couple of weeks ago, I thank you because is my second composition, and I keep learning from you... I took all the comments and I tried to improve my composing in volume, coordination, and of course, make it longer!. This is kind of "version 2", I hope you like it.

    Hi Andino:

Sounds good to me. I like the interaction between the horns and
the resulting harmonies. The strings "scream" a little, but that's to
    be expected sometimes.

Overall, I like your piece, Andino.

It sounds fine to me. I also could hear a problem with the strings but that's easily fixed.

This sounds cinematic but it could also be a independent piece.

Can't add much to the mix suggestions - just wanted to say that this was quite beautiful. Well written!

Thank you all for your reply..

Fastlane, actually I tried to make a "soundtrack environment" to that piece, that was my intention at the begining, but just to see how it sounds...

    rpearl, thanks for your comment.

And I'll keep working the strings!!

    Andino,

There's a very gentle quality to this, yet it also maintains a very regal feeling throughout -- sometimes even bordering on ominous. It's quite a compelling piece, and there is definitely a story being told.

Your harmonic sensibility is very sophisticated; I would suggest only varying the rhytmic flow of the harmonies a bit more as they seemed at times to be just a little static. This is a minor issue, though; you've presented a very enjoyable and well-constructed piece. Thank you for posting this!

The sound on this is quite, quite good, Andino.
I played it through my JBL's -- which forgive
no sins whatever -- and I must compliment you
on the hard work at improving your rendering
    skills.

With Danny, I likewise enjoyed much of the
harmonic work in this; as well as the overall
shaping of the piece. Perhaps a little more
thought on rhythmic dynamism and devices
to impart more forward motion would further
    benefit the writing.

Keep it coming, Andino. I hear much fine
    progress in this!

    My best,

Danny, etLux, thanks for those fascinating comments. It's a fact that I'll take your advices and I will try to apply them to the piece, after all, I'm still getting use to the notation software and I have too much to learn.

    Thanks,
