    Thomas Newman's Piano

    Hi everyone,
I'm hoping to emulate the sound that Thomas Newman achieves with a solo piano in his scores to such movies as American Beauty (e.g. the paper bag scene), and The Shawshank Redemption. It is a dark, heavily eq'd, very reverb-y sound, and I just can't figure out how exactly he does it. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

He adds EQ and reverb to it

If you cjheck out ArtVista's Maljmso piano it has rather similar sound that you might like. I do, and so do some high profile composers I know.
