Exclamation New trumpets for Concert & Marching Band

    Hi friends,

I was often asked how I do the sound on my brasscompositions. One thing is that I often edit the Kontakt instruments to sound best to my compositions.... .

To get a cool staccato trumpet sound I built a "round robin" patch with 4 different samples per note. This kills very fine the machine-gun effect!

Also I built a "Big-Trumpet" where a compressor and an early reflection reverb is included. And another one where also is added a convo-reverb. They work in Kontakt Sampler2 and in Kontakt Player2.

Listen to a short demo here: http://www.box.net/shared/oewnwkwg8c

If you like it you can download here: http://www.box.net/shared/lwduajls0g

After downloading just unzip and copy and paste the instrumentfiles into the folder where your other trumpets are listed.

Please never forget to use the hold-pedal to enable or dissable the legato-mode!

    I hope you enjoy!

Using the Sustain Pedal removes the attack portion of the sample and
connects the notes for smoother sounding eff ect. The result is a phrase that more closely emulates the sound of the slur.

Nice, Gunther! - A quick note to point out that Ben was confused, and others will be too, because you said:

"...Please never forget to use the hold-pedal to disable the legato-mode (kills the organ effect)!..."

But actually you meant that the pedal ENables Legato, it doesn't DISable it. Maybe you could edit your original post so people will understand what you meant.

Thank you Gunther!.There was a short trumpet piece in one of my compositions that i could never get to sound right. With your help it might sound correct.

    Thanks Randy,

    edit is done

I tell this because I have listend to many CoMB demos where the legato mode was enabled and that maks an "organ sound" while playing staccato in this mode... .

If I am using a notation program to play the sounds, do I need to worry about legato mode, or can I just notate as normal?

In Finale, if you add slurs to your phrases, that enables legato mode.
    No slurs, no legato.

Right, I suppose that was more my question. Should have thought of that, haha. Notate as normal it is then!
