    Sibelius and GPO Studio

Guys, I have a huge doubt, and so far I haven't found a solution for it.

If I use Sibelius with GPO, I know the Sibelius recorder just won't work because It won't "cach" the GPO instruments. Instead of it, I use the GPO Studio's recorder, and it works fine for me.

Sibelius has choir libraries that, for me, the sound very nice, and I can mix the Sibelius and GPO libraries in the score.. HOWEVER, there's no way I can record(output) the score mixing both libraries. My question is:

Is there any way I can record both? or is there a choir library for GPO so I can forget about Sibelius' ? Is there something out there to apply choirs to a score?

    Thanks,

The easiest way is to update to sib 5 where you can record everything you want.

If you cannot afford sib5, then you have to record the sib files and then the GPO files and use something like audacity (free) to mix them together.

This is the main reason I updated to sib 5.

    Hope that helps

Well, Sib 5 is the easiest way to go. But, you can also use programs like Audio Hijack, Wiretap Pro, or Audacity - the last is free. They will record whatever comes out of your speakers ( Audacity doesn't seem to do that on a Mac). They are inexpensive - Audacity is free.

Re: Sibelius 5 and GPO Studio

Hello people, It's me again. I finally took your advice, I just got Sibelius 5 installled on my computer to try. And I have to tell you, I'm a little confused!... and scared too!!!!..

I already have GPO installed and JABB, but I've been reading about this Sibelius 5, and a lot of people say it's kind of "self sufficient", that it has great libraries.. Does it mean I should uninstall GPO and JABB??

The music I've written, I used Sibelius 4 and the GPO libraries, but now I can't make them work with 5. What's gonna happen with my old saved files? do I have to start over with this new version? and the Sibelius instruments? (Honestly I don't want it...)

I've been looking for support so maybe I can keep the GPO and JABB installed with this new version, I don't know if that's possible, but I have no idea how to set them up with Sib 5!!.

I'd really thank you guys for any help or idea you can give me, or maybe there's a document somewhere I can use as a guide?

    Thank you,

    Re: Sibelius and GPO Studio

Thank you so much for the help John.. now, is there a manual or text file about these instructions? 'cause I haven't found it, and I don't know how to update the GPO to the KP2.

With the explanation you posted, I assumed I can keep using the GPO Studio? or the KP2 already can manage the GPO and JABB?

The KP2 update is available from Native Instruments http://www.native-instruments.com. You will have to register with them to get to the download page.

Studio is totally unnecessary with Sibelius 5.

All you need to do is embed the CC control message. Use Technique text. e.g. ~C22,4 C23,3 will set VAR1 to 4 and VAR2 to 3.
